  Baby Shower Food & Menu Ideas

The food served at a baby shower can be as simple or fancy as you like.  The main thing to remember is not to make things too complicated and time consuming, especially if you are an expectant mum putting together your own baby shower.  Below are a few simple ideas for some delightful fare to serve or how about a "bring-a-plate" baby shower?  Each guest could bring a plate of favourite food to share buffet style. 

Obviously avoid serving food that is potentially harmful to pregnant women.*  To be on the safe side, steer clear of raw seafood, cold deli meats/cold pre-cooked chicken, pate, stored salads and coleslaw and surface-ripened soft cheese (eg: brie, camembert).  Wash fruit and raw vegetables before consuming.
